The Beaufort County Treasurer's Office announces the distribution of the 2019 Real and Personal Property tax bills, totaling $434,584,537.74.

New this Year

When paying by credit card or electronic check, there has always been a convenience fee, a charge for using those payment types, in order to pay property taxes.  But new this year, through the County's new banking relationship, Maria Walls, CPA, Beaufort County Treasurer, negotiated the reduction and even elimination of those fees; summarized below.  More detailed information is provided in the Payment Options section.

  • Credit card fees- Reduced from 2.50% to 2.35%
  • Debit card fees- Reduced from 2.5% to 1.00%
  • Electronic Check- Reduced from $1.25 to Zero

Treasurer Walls believes, "Paying taxes is hard enough, reducing and eliminating added fees makes tax payments a little easier and more convenient."
