The Beaufort County Treasurer’s Office would like to announce the mailing of 24,755 delinquent property tax bills for the tax year 2016, totaling approximately $23 million.
“This is the first step in the delinquency process, to notify delinquent owners about their outstanding taxes.” said Maria Walls, CPA, Beaufort County Treasurer. “To avoid additional fees and future collection notifications, taxpayers should ensure their taxes are paid immediately.”
Taxpayers are reminded to always keep their mailing address up-to-date with the Treasurer’s Office for each real and personal property they own. Delinquent tax bills, as well as all other bills and County correspondence, are mailed through the United States Postal Service to the address on record with Beaufort County.
A taxpayer can easily update their mailing address and pay delinquent property taxes online, by mail or in-person.
